Authors Art and Artists

Carl Radke is one of only a few glassblowers out of the thousands in the United States who continues to work in this difficult and traditional glass. His skill with glass and glass decoration has allowed him to "play" with the medium and to develop this unique collection.

Carl Radke's glass has been displayed in numerous galleries and exhibitions since Phoenix was created in 1975, and is considered to be highly collectible.

Being a dedicated nature photographer I have been inspired by the works of masters like Ansel Adams and Elliot Porter

Capturing images that create the feelings I feel when out in nature is my ultimate goal. Mother Nature, the greatest artist of all, is not always easy to put on film. When light, composition, and my emotion all come together, I become fully engaged, the magic of the moment consumes me. Being in the right place at the right time is sometimes the rule, but at other times the creative images requires careful planning, with great patience, sometimes going back to a place time and time again.

My images are printed on archival Ilfochrome (formerly cibachrome) paper, which produces the true color and sharpness of the original image. No computer imaging, artificial lighting, or unnatural filtration were used in creating these images. These are prints that will last a lifetime, and create a feel of beauty and peace wherever you chose to display them.

Mary Anderson studied at Chouinard and Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles. She credits her mastery of drawing to the teaching of Joe Magnaini and the late Charles White.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she moved to Los Angeles and began her art study with a high school scholarship to Chouinard Art Institute. A full time scholarship to Otis Art Institute followed Pasadena City College. In the 60's, the figure drawing department at Otis, under Joe Magnaini and Herb Jepson, was very strong. Students worked from life standing at huge easels. The drawing paper was as big as could be found and images ere life size, which is why the artist is still most comfortable drawing standing up in front of a big piece of paper.

My focus is on painting high quality interior trompe l'oeil murals. The term, trompe l'oeil, is French and means to trick the eye or fool the eye. The technique of trompe l'oeil painting pre-dates ancient Rome, 700 BC and can now be found throughout the world. The paint creates the illusion of a three dimensional reality. My goal is to fool a viewer for as long as possible, to impart a magical discovery.  

I welcome commissions both small and large, in your home or business. Subjects need not be limited to what is shown here.

Terry DeLapp, a native Californian , has spent his entire artistic career as a painter of still life and landscape. His Neo tonalist style captures the slowly vanishing way of life on the farms and ranches of the Salinas and San Joaquin valleys of California, with the coast range and Gabilan mountains as background . Terry's work provides the viewer with a sweeping and dramatic presentation of the atmospheres unique to this region. This carefully constructed palette is carried on to his still life's, which provide a calm and spontaneous image of fresh flowers of California.

Terry DeLapp's respect and knowledge of the land that he paints is evident. He brings a singular vision to the art of tonalist painting. and is one of the foremost American painters of this genre.

The art of Dennis Curry is largely focused on the wildlife and environments of East Africa. First traveling to the area in 1982 to study big cats, he became captivated by the beautiful landscape and rich diversity of animals. The primal power of this land has since brought him back many times.
